Important Update: New Cell Phone Policy at Suring MS/HS
Suring Public School District wants to inform you of a significant update to the Suring Middle/High School policy regarding personal electronic devices. This decision reflects our commitment to creating the most effective and supportive learning environment for all students.
Effective Tuesday, September 2, 2025, the use of personal electronic devices — including cell phones, smart watches, and earbuds — will be prohibited for the entire school day (7:57 a.m. – 3:20 p.m.).
This change means students will no longer have access to these devices during:
Class time
Passing periods
Lunch
Any other school-sponsored activities during school hours
(Previously, high school students were allowed to use devices during passing periods and lunch; this is no longer permitted.)
The updated policy is designed to:
Minimize distractions in the classroom
Encourage face-to-face interaction
Support academic focus and success
We ask for the cooperation of students, parents/guardians, and staff as we implement this important change. Please contact the Student Office or Mr. Weidner for questions or the full details of the policy .
