Hi There!
As your elementary school counselor, my goal is to support the "whole child"—socially, emotionally, and academically. I work alongside parents, teachers, and administrators to ensure every student feels safe, valued, and ready to learn. Think of my counseling office as a helpful pit stop where students can pause, reset, and build the skills they need to navigate the ups and downs of growing up. Throughout the school year, we support our students in three primary ways:
|
Classroom Lessons
All elementary students have weekly social-emotional learning (SEL) lessons that teach school-wide and life skills like empathy, bullying prevention, managing big emotions, kindness, and how to be a great friend.
Small Group Counseling
Sometimes kids benefit from sharing experiences with peers. We host small, short-term groups throughout the year focusing on specific topics like coping with changing families (divorce), navigating grief, boosting self-esteem, or sharpening social skills.
Individual Check-Ins
For students needing a little extra support, we provide short-term, solution-focused individual counseling. Whether a student is experiencing temporary school anxiety, a conflict with a friend, or just having a tough morning, we are here to help them problem-solve and develop healthy coping strategies.

Please Note: School counseling is short-term and focused on helping students succeed at school. If a student needs intensive, ongoing therapeutic support, we are always happy to partner with families to connect them with wonderful mental health resources in our local community.
